GIPS PathBack

The Grand Island Public Schools is offering a PathBack to teaching program for two graduates of GISH.   This program provides assistance to participants during college. In addition, up to two high school seniors each year will be offered a teaching position with the Grand Island Public Schools. That’s right, a job when they graduate. A teaching contract as a high school senior to teach when they graduate college with a degree in education. This will be our second year of the PathBack program. Our first two recipients were Dylan Thomson and Itzumy Robles. The PathBack program started from the District Strategic Plan. The idea was to grow our own and with the Academy of Education, Law, and Public Safety at Grand Island Senior High in place, this program was ready to begin.
